Join the LLS Orchestra for an extraordinary evening of classical music at the BroadStage in Santa Monica, CA, on Sunday, November 17, at 7 PM. This captivating program brings together iconic works from the world of symphonic music.

The evening opens with John Williams' "Olympic Fanfare and Theme", a triumphant and uplifting piece that celebrates the spirit of the Olympic competition and unity. Following this, the orchestra will perform Brahms' Symphony No. 3 in F major, a masterpiece brimming with emotional depth and lyrical beauty.

After a brief intermission, enjoy Strauss' "Frühlingsstimmen" (Voices of Spring), featuring the brilliant soprano Elisabetta Russo, widely acclaimed for her leading roles in both Opera and Musical Theatre. Holding degrees from prestigious schools including the Accademia Santa Cecilia in Rome, Accademia Chigiana in Siena, Accademia Rossiniana in Pesaro, Ms. Russo has collaborated with world-renowned artists like Andrea Bocelli, David Foster, and Oscar-winning composers Ennio Morricone and Nicola Piovani.

The program continues with Debussy's "Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun", a dreamy and sensuous piece that evokes the beauty of nature. The evening culminates with Ravel's Piano Concerto in G Major, performed by the highly accomplished pianist Jason Stoll. A versatile performer holding degrees from prestigious institutions including the Juilliard School and the Glenn Gould School, currently a piano instructor at California State University, Northridge, Mr. Stoll has collaborated with violinist Lindsay Deutsch, the genre-bending trio Take 3, and renowned artists such as Leon Fleisher and Emmanuel Ax.

LLS Orchestra - April 2023 Concert

The LLS Orchestra is honored to be performing for the first time in the Zipper Hall of Colburn, among the leading music conservatories in the country, just a few steps away from the world-renowned LA Phil (200 S Grand Avenue, Los Angeles).

Our exceptional soloists for the night will be:

  • Jason Stoll, an exceptional Southern California pianist with a multifaceted career as concerto soloist, recitalist, chamber musician, educator, and collaborative artist;
  • Elisabetta Russo, a well-known and acclaimed soprano who, among others, sang with Andrea Bocelli; and
  • Yoo Hee Shin, an incredibly talented pianist with a master’s degree in music from the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, currently completing her JD degree at Loyola Law School.

The program includes two iconic pieces of music:

  • Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2, a timeless masterpiece that's sure to stir your emotions; and
  • Gershwin/Grofè Rhapsody in Blue, a stunning composition that captures the energy and spirit of America.

The beauty and magic of this performance could only be matched by our own Alessandra Tarissi De Jacobis, who will be our host for the event again.

Tickets are limited, and we expect them to sell out fast. A minimum donation of $25 will secure a seat. We’ll reserve seats in the first rows for donors of $100 and above. So, if you're interested in joining us, we encourage you to make your gift early to avoid disappointment.

La Dolce Vita at Loyola

The LLS Orchestra looks forward to hosting its inaugural fundraising outdoor concert, La Dolce Vita at Loyola, on Friday, October 28, at 6 p.m. at Loyola Law School. This performance features dance music by Nino Rota, Maurice Ravel, Bela Bartok, Astor Piazzolla, Joseito Fernandez and Justin Hurwitz, and catering offered by Michelin Star chef Luigi Fineo.
